Description
Amitraz belongs to the class of formamidines. The biological activity of this acaricide is defined by its effectiveness to kill mange mites, ticks and other ectoparasites.Indications
01. Amitraz is the drug of choice against demodicosis in dogs. It is highly effective against sarcoptic mange in animals. It acts on ticks in a very efficient manner.02. Amitraz effectively controls humpsore, earsore, tailsore dermatitis and mange in cattle, buffaloes, small ruminants and wild animals.
03. Control and treatment of ticks & fleas
Contra indications
01. Should not be used in pups under 4 months of age02. In Chihuahuas, Yorkshire terriers, Poodles - half the dosage to be used

Earsore/Humpsore/Tailsore dermatitis - 2 ml
Mange - 3 - 4 ml
Sarcoptic Mange - 2 - 3 applications
Demodectic mange - 5 - 8 applications
METHOD OF APPLICATIONClip the hairs
Bathe the animal with soap/shampoo and water
Pat dry with a towel
Make a dip concentrate as per dosage
Apply the solution all over the body and on the affected area liberally with thorough scrubbing. Allow it to dry.
Do not give bath for a week after application

No toxicities are generally encountered. Mild sedation is seen, if the animal licks the body after applicatio if not dry. Salivation might also be seen sometimes.ANTIDOTE : No specific antidote available. Symptomatic treatment advised in toxicities. In severe cases Yohimbine can be used.
